About OHSEPR

The U.S. Repatriation Program is managed by the Office of Human Services Emergency Preparedness and Response (OHSEPR) within the Administration for Children and Families of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

OHSEPR:

  • Coordinates with state and territorial human services departments, as well as local service providers and nongovernmental organizations, to provide temporary assistance to eligible repatriates in their state or territory of final destination.
  • Leads all federal emergency repatriation planning and operations conducted as part of the U.S. Repatriation Program.
  • Makes all eligibility determinations for the U.S. Repatriation Program.

When activated by OHSEPR to support an emergency repatriation operation, states and territories execute their state emergency repatriation plans to provide temporary assistance to returning eligible U.S. citizens at ports of entry.

Please visit OHSEPR’s webpage for programmatic and policy guidance.

About the Repatriation Technical Assistance Center:

The Repatriation Technical Assistance Center is funded by the Office of Human Services Emergency Preparedness and Response (OHSEPR) in the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The Repatriation Technical Assistance Center is the training and technical assistance provider for state and territorial human services staff who support routine repatriation cases and/or state emergency repatriation planning, training, exercises, and operations.

By assisting states in developing and implementing effective approaches to serve U.S. citizens and their dependents who have been determined eligible for temporary assistance by OHSEPR, the Repatriation Technical Assistance Center provides capability building support for state and territory human services staff in the form of technical assistance, training, and online communities.

The Repatriation Technical Assistance Center is where state, territory, and local human service staff register to receive free training and technical assistance, including:

  • Reviews and feedback on State Emergency Repatriation Plans to ensure alignment with OHSEPR doctrine and guidance
  • Dissemination and development of tools, resources, and training
  • Training and guidance on repatriation forms, case management in routine repatriation operations, the National Emergency Repatriation Framework, and emergency repatriation operations
  • Support of state emergency repatriation exercises through development of tools and feedback on exercise objectives and scenarios

Repatriation technical assistance services are provided via direct access or through trainings (both live or on-demand), resources, guides, and toolkits on topics critical to grantee agencies on this website.
